Do you have a passion for invention, innovation and design? Would you like to put your talents toward tackling some of the largest healthcare challenges around the world? Do you see yourself as a leader in medical technology innovation?
If the answer to any of these questions is yes, I would like to invite you to explore Johns Hopkins' unique MSE program in Bioengineering Innovation and Design. This is an intensive and life changing year long experience, during which you will be immersed within the clinical, technical and business realities of practical health care innovation. You will spend the summer immersed in clinical rotations at top-ranked Johns Hopkins Hospital, to learn the process of identifying, assessing, and validating clinical needs. Additionally, you will travel to Africa and Asia to identify and understand the potential for transformative innovation and biodesign opportunites in low resource healthcare infrastructures.
Subsequently, you will work closely in design teams, comprised of students, clinical and engineering faculty to invent, prototype, and develop innovative solutions. You will also be working closely with business faculty, industry experts, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists and legal and regulatory partners, to develop innovative business models and plans to transform your inventions into reality.
You will learn what it takes to identify transformative medical device opportunities for developed and emerging economies and gain key entrepreneurial and management skills along the way.
Sound interesting? Why don't you consider applying?
All big thinkers are welcome.
Sincerely,
