Applying to the David E. Swirnow Master of Science in Bioengineering Innovation and Design Program
This program runs continuously from the end of May to the following May, with only a short holiday break in late December. CBID will begin accepting applications for the 2012-2013 academic year in October 2011. Students must apply online through Apply Yourself. Paper or electronic applications sent directly to the department will not be accepted. The application deadline is January 1, 2012.
*Please note: In Apply Yourself, to indicate interest in the David E. Swirnow MSE in Bioengineering Innovation and Design program, please apply to the Department of Biomedical Engineering and Concentration/Area of Interest should be Bioengineering Innovation and Design.

We require the following application materials:
- Online Application
- Statement of Purpose
- Three letters of recommendation. Atleast one should be from a former or current professor or a professor with whom you have worked.
- GRE scores, not more than three years old. (department code is 1603) Please note:
- MCAT scores cannot be substituted for GRE scores.
- JHU students who wish to apply to this program are required to submit GRE scores.
- No subjuect test is required.
- TOEFL or IELTS, required of all international applicants for whom English is not the primary language.
- Original undergraduate transcript(s)
- Resume
- Additional application materials can include publications, papers, or special projects that would be of interest to the admissions committee.
Important Dates
- January 1: Deadline for David E. Swirnow MSE in Bioengineering Innovation and Design applications for class of 2012-2013
- Late January-early February: On campus interviews for selected candidates
- March: Notification of admission
- May 29, 2012: First day of class
- May, 2013: Graduation
